Shades of Blue Too

This blog post is meant to honor Rosa Naparstek and Harry Ettling for their helping me see, hear and experience blues differently. While I never met Harry, Rosa introduced me to him and both helped me turn my life around.

"Bluey" was Harry Ettling's 1982 model Honda Civic.  The long time Inwood resident owned Bluey from when he bought the car in 1981 until 2012. It was time, unfortunately for Bluey to go to the big recycling center in the sky.  On Saturday, August 4th at 1 pm, Bluey received the send off he deserved (Bluey, unlike most cars, was male.)

Harry arranged a New Orleans style funeral procession up Seaman Ave. to 207th St. in Upper Manhattan. After the eulogy and the tow truck departed, everyone repaired to Piper's Kilt for the reception afterwards.  Harry had his regrets. Take a last look at Bluey as Harry talks about the most reliable friend ever.
